Couple things.
1) it is about the worst thing you could possibly inhale as far as cancer goes, up there with asbestos. So be extremely carful.
2) it can be used mix with water/bleach to remove stains from natural stone grout and concrete, great for oil stains in the driveway.
3) it does kill indiscriminately, so? if you have any good predator/ pollinator insects they will die also.
DE used? to be commonly used in swimming pool filters.You might still be able to get large bags at pool supply stores.I wouldn’t go eating that stuff, but for gardening and soil conditioning it might be cheaper to get locally rather then ordering it and paying shipping.

D.E. works but is slow killing if you need to rid bugs in a hurry. I tested a small amount in a jar with bugs in it to see how fast and effective it is and most bugs die within 1 day to 2 days for tougher bugs. In my opinion it works best for keeping dust mites, ants, and other bugs that come into the house. Sweep some between wall boards and cracks to keep them out. As for eating, make sure they are food grade since salt? water DE has higher amounts of silica and never use pool grade DE.
Been using it for a couple of years. A teaspoon in the morning with some? juice and it cleanses the system. I sprinkle it around the outside of the home and around the doors and don’t have to worry about insects, twice a week I give it to my dogs. It haven’t hurt me yet.I bought a 100 lb bag it last long time. they say it’s a silica but like you said make sure you get the one made for human consumption. It’s ground finer. The courser one will do you harm.

I went there and asked for it and I would have done better asking for plutonium….but that’s my store locally. They had NO idea. I know some preppers put DE in their grain storage as? an insecticide.

Don’t use? pool DE, it’s treated with mildewcide and is considered toxic.

I’ve been using DE for a year. It’s great stuff. For a puffer I use a? water bottle (LakeHouseChronicle youtube has great video up).
