My motto is – buy what you will eat. Don’t take a chance with foods you never purchase, unless you? sample it first. Godspeed.

Another couple of ideas. Plant some jeruselum artichokes in a flower bed along your back yard. The tubers will provide? a yearly winter harvest. They grow over 6 feet tall but they look like small sunflowers most of the plant is usable as a food source. Berry plants and rosebushes will help with Vitamin C. They are easy to dehydrate and store.

15 to 20 years?? LOL what u expecting an asteroid strike? Naa man if there’s a collapse look more towards 6 months to a year before some sort of order and structure can be reestablished and supply routes are restored. 1 to 2 years? worth of supplies is more than enough along with just enough ammo to keep away intruders and opportunists.

Buy what you can buy, when you can buy your food. That is what I am doing. Even if it’s high saturated sugar, loaded on gluton can goods. Organic?? Who the hell has the money for canned organic. In a survival situation, even if it last years, you are going to need FOOD!!! Not certain waters.? Not every body has Sparkletts Water money. Keep up the good work!! If these people watching have such a high expectaion on your choice of food, tell them to buy you what they think you should have then.

HEB puts alot of their canned stuff on sale as well as oatmeal. Today they have fruit and peanut butter for a $1. I’ve found cases of water as? cheap as 2.88, I have 5 so far. Even dried fruit goes on sale without being advertised.

@DEMCAD……Good job on? the prepping. I think that one thing you should also be doing as finances permit is to gather long term food that will be good for 15 to 20 years. I’m talking about freeze dried and dehydrated food in #10 cans. There are probably a half a dozen suppliers. It aint cheap but if you can get some you will be glad that you did when your canned food is gone. Hang in there amego and keep up the good work .

If you go to Sam’s wholesale or costco you can get 9 lb boxes of quick oats for the price of about two of those cylinders. Fruit is tasty but not much calories. I primarily focus on protein, fiber,? calorie content when selecting food and stockpile one a day vitamins to help combat vitamin deficiencies. Vitamin tablets and immune system boosting herbs are good to have on hand too for fighting off scurvy and various diseases

Your prices are comparable to here in Kansas. We are watching for sales at the store and then buying in quantity. For example The local Kroger had there store? store brand tuna on sales for .56 cents. We bought quite a few at that price. Nice video! Some non food items we’ve slowly accumulating are old school hand tools. You mentioned the wash board, think about things like saws for fire wood, axe, maul, wedge etc …

I agree with? you…nobody is going to refuse food in a can when the SHTF.
