I’ll explain in a video, but I’d choose all purpose flour for the donuts and not bread flour. I also got the oil a bit too hot tonight. It should take about 2-3 to 6 minutes total to fry. Be VERY CAUTIOUS with the oil. Should? sizzle gently and donut should float. It should not sizzle wildly when donut goes into oil. It took maybe 5 minutes to mix up the dough. I made a small batch of about 16 total. May try it again with all purpose flour soon. Zap
Definitely would love to hear how this goes! Yes if I could ever get rid of the pain~~I would defnitely be shouting it to everyone also. Today is a kinda rough start, as we? are having T-storms. The humidty really bothers me. I take Prednisone & a Chemo Drug, among several other drugs. Not fun! Take care.
You surely have a lot to deal with. Thank you for your kindness. If I haven’t posted my herbal in home trial results by Sept. 1 send me a personal message. In addition to my main health issues I’ve had Fibro too, for a? long time now and BELIEVE YOU ME, if I am able to get rid of this pain the whole world is going to know. If I learn anything that will help I will surely share that info. I want to be really clear that these are just plain herbs, very affordable.
Thanks so much for sharing this recipe. I am sorry to hear that you have to deal? with Chronic illness & pain. I have Fibromyalgia & Sarcoidosis & I deal with these type of problems also (20 yrs now). I do what I can but some days are tough & minimal in progress. Take care.
I can buy 5# of Kroger flour for $1.34 so, no more than $1.00 for enough flour, Eggs about a dime, so .40 for eggs, About .50 for milk here but usually less? at Kroger, Butter at Aldi is STILL Amazingly $ 2.29 lb. so $1.15 for 2 sticks of butter = $3.05 plus salt, yeast, and cooking will use just a tiny bit of oil. Less than a nickle per donut not counting the 86 holes…But I agree, likely not in NY. Do you have Aldi there?
APOLOGY–Just realized I mentioned having a tough day the other day with decisions I have to make about medications. Not trying to beat a dead horse here. Any kind of oil is probably fine. Soybean Oil, Corn Oil, Peanut Oil, Canola Oil and if Olive oil doesn’t impart any unusual flavor it? should be fine.
